I am very happy to welcome back our 7th and 8th graders at Woodfield. Did you know that happiness is one of the six basic emotions?
In our classroom we are starting this school year by learning about these emotions: sadness, happiness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust. In middle school, we bounce from one emotion to another very rapidly. So, identifying and understanding these emotions is vital.
Our emotions lead us to many different feelings, such as silly, embarrassed, energetic, and ashamed, just to name a few. These feelings affect our behavior. The good news is we can learn how to recognize and control our feelings and behaviors.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year full of emotions that lead to growth and learning.
Happily,
Ms. Braley
