September brought plenty of excitement and hands-on learning across all grade levels. For October, we anticipate fall festivities and foundational growth in the lower school, math and science coming alive in the middle school, and real-world discoveries bringing new life to the high school.
Our lower school students are looking forward to a festive trip to the pumpkin patch, which beautifully complements their ongoing classroom discussions about friendship and honesty. In science, younger learners are busy exploring the wonders of the water cycle and the basics of planting.
Middle schoolers have been turning abstract measurement concepts into active, hands-on discoveries that get them moving all around the room. Across the middle school, students are mastering weight and dimensions, as well as the art of converting between standard and metric units. Diving into the worlds of gardening and temperature, while seeing numbers come to life in their own space, has brought incredible engagement to our STEM curriculum.
Meanwhile, our high school students are diving into diverse academic topics, including the branches of government, the chemistry of kitchen science, and the complex system of animal taxonomy. They also learned about 9/11 through videos and discussions. Additionally, they completed a 9/11 mural and displayed it in the hallway.
Beyond the classroom, the high schoolers are taking an active role in raising and caring for our baby chicks. The chicks have happily settled into their posh new coop, and it won’t be long before we are harvesting fresh eggs once again!
